The ever popular broadway musical has made its return to Minneapolis. Starting its tour in Columbus, OH, Wicked on Tour, finds its home in Minneapolis for 39 days as its second stop through the nation. The demand for tickets is pretty incredible, that being said, the Campus Activities Board has landed 50 tickets to take students to see the show.
Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, September 8th for $20 at 7:30am at the Information Desk outside of the Student Activities Office.
The show we will be seeing is on Sunday, September 12th. The bus leaves campus from Three Flags at 5:30pm. Please note: you must ride the bus to and from the Orpheum Theatre.
“The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz. So much happened before Dorothy dropped in.”
Wicked tells the story of Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West, and her relationship with Galinda, later Glinda the Good Witch of the South. Their friendship struggles through their opposing personalities and viewpoints, rivalry over the same love-interest, their reactions to the Wizard’s corrupt government, and, ultimately, Elphaba’s public fall from grace. The plot is set before and during Dorothy’s arrival from Kansas, and includes several references to well-known scenes and dialogue in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz as a backstory. It is currently the 18th longest-running Broadway show.
