‘I’m Beamin’ About Lupe Fiasco Coming…As Should You

To say the least, the entire Gustavus Adolphus College Campus Activities Board is VERY excited this weekend is finally here!

Since October of last year, a dedicated team of student leaders have been working very diligently on every little detail that will make Saturday’s show spactacular.  Starting this afternoon, crews will begin transforming the empty Lund Arena into a world-class venue to prepare for the 3,000 plus concert goers expected to fill the building by 8 pm tomorrow night.  CAB has partnered with Slamhammer Productions, a Twin Cities based entertianment services company, to help provide the atmosphere for tomorrow night’s show…. just wait till you see how cool it is going to look, the lights are going to be off the chains!

Lupe Fiasco is performing in Milwaukee tonight and will then hop back on his tour bus, arriving in Saint Peter early tomorrow afternoon.  The traditional hockey locker rooms in Lund will be transformed into Lupe’s dressing rooms, fully equipped with his XBox360 and his favorite EA Sports games.

The Unknown Prophets will be making their way down to Saint Peter tomorrow down 169 from North Minneapolis.  Tomorrow will mark the band’s 10th Anniversary of their first album World Premier coming out. They are extremely excited about the opportunity to play with such a high caliber entertainer as Lupe Fiasco. With their excitement comes our excitement because they will be providing a classic example of what the Minneapolis Hip-Hop scene is all about: more than average flow mixed with intricate beats that draw on many different musical genre influences. They will also be outfitted with a full band consisting of two guitarists, a bassist, drummer, DJ, and of course Jess and Mad Son, the masterminds behind the lyrics.

As far as concert information goes, the doors will open at 7 pm.  Keep in mind you may want to  as we expect the show to be sold out and for people to be lining up early tomorrow afternoon.  For those people who are driving from off-campus take highway 169 South all the way to St. Peter, take a right on College Ave. and go straight up to campus (you should see a large clock tower). For all, please be aware of the signs regarding the concert around campus. These signs indicate where to park on campus, and all other relevant concert information of where to go.

If you still don’t have a ticket, there are less than 300 left so I suggest getting online to www.gustavustickets.com and purchasing yours before its too late.  Tickets will only be available at the door in limited amounts, if at all.  For those of you who can’t make the show, a live webcam is set-up in Lund Arena that can be accessed at www.gustavus.edu/welcome/webcam wehere you can follow our Crew setting up to.

Also, for those interested Lupe Fiasco is asking his fans to wear a Laser’s approved wardrobe to the concert which consists of: black shoes, a black t-shirt, and military camouflage pants.
