New Campus Activities Board Positions

Posted on April 14th, 2011 by

For the 2011-2012 academic year, the Campus Activities Board has created two new Executive positions: Arts & Entertainment, and Weekends. These two will will combination, replace and extend the Fine Arts, Speakers and Films positions.

The Arts & Entertainment Executive will be responsible for planning entertaining and educational speakers and events to be held on campus. Their role also has the responsibility to coordinating the bi-annual Big Speaker, such as Frank Abagnale this spring, as well as organizing trips to experience the fine arts in the Twin Cities, such as Wicked and the upcoming, Next to Normal.

The Weekends Executive main responsibility will be to coordinate the on campus weekend movies, but the role has been expanded to include the responsibility of planning approximately one weekend activity a month. This could be anything from Dueling Pianos to SNL.

The new positions will allow the Executives to have more freedom with the events they provide for the campus, as well as utilizing them to the best of their abilities. We are very excited about the new positions, and can’t wait to see what they have in store for next year!
